Do I have to use my insurer's approve repairer?

Absolutely not! They would, of course, prefer that you did, because it enables them to keep a tighter control on the cost. Any motor vehicle insurance policy holder has a right to choose the repairer that they would like to carry out the work. This is clearly set out in an agreement that exists between the OFT (Office of Fair Trading) and the ABI (Association of British Insurers), but your insurance company, for obvious reasons, will not necessarily go out of their way to make you aware of this.

We are the repairer that insurance companies often turn to when other repairers, and sometimes even their own approved repairers, have failed to satisfy. We have undertaken rectification work at the request of major insurance companies whose approved repairer has fallen short of the standard expected by one of their policyholders. We're pleased to say that, in every such case, the customer has gone away completely satisfied - and we feel confident that, should the worst happen again, they will come to us first next time.

For the past 11 years, we have been a BMW Main Dealer approved repairer and, in more recent years, we have become the preferred repairer for local Mitsubishi, Subaru and Suzuki Main Dealers. In addition to this we have, for many years, specialised in the repair of Toyotas .

It's always good to have these regular sources of work, they provide the backbone of our business, but nothing gives us a greater feeling of satisfaction than when people personally recommend us to colleagues, friends and family.
